Taking the step to talk with a skilled psychotherapist about your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, can provide help, relief, and new understanding, whether you are facing a new challenge, or struggling with long-standing concerns. I am an experienced psychotherapist who approaches individual therapy with warmth, compassion, and empathy, without judgment.
All couples have their own difficulties and struggles. Sometimes, it may feel that your relationship has gone beyond that. I will work with you to help you reconnect with yourselves and with each other, for the sake of the relationship. In our work together in couples counseling I will give attention to patterns of communication and behavior that may interfere with your relationship and address deep or long-lasting struggles that have been difficult to recognize and resolve.
A significant influence in my clinical practice is Social Justice Theory. I work extensively with individuals that identify as LGBTQ people of color, meeting the needs of individuals who embrace multiple cultural identities that are part of non-dominant cultural groups. You will be supported to help understand how external cultural influences may impact our relationships, work, identity and more.
